Municipal tree management software

Municipal tree management software for cities and parks departments.

Give your arborists one place for the city's trees: the inventory on a map, risk assessments captured in the field, and reports that are kept exactly as they were sent.

A day on the job

The morning after a storm.

A wind storm has come through and the parks department needs to know which trees along a busy corridor are a risk. Here's how a crew works it in RootFlare.

An inventory on a phone: its client and status, and a map of its trees pinned in rating colours.

1. See the corridor

The inventory's trees on a map, each pin coloured by its latest rating.

New assessment on a phone: Add a new tree, a tree search, and a list of trees to choose from.

2. Start at the tree

Each arborist picks the tree on their own phone and starts a fresh assessment.

Field mode on a phone, showing Saved: the Tree tab with the client and site fields.

3. Keep working without signal

Everything saves on the phone and syncs to the shared account when it's back online.

The Assessments list on a phone: search and filters for status, rating, client and dates, and an assessment rated Moderate Risk, Final.

4. Find the high risks

Filter every assessment by rating, status and date to see what needs work first.

What's included

For the people who look after a city's trees.

Your whole team

Invite staff to one shared account of trees, assessments and reports. Organizations include unlimited people.

Bring in your inventory

Import the existing tree list from CSV, Excel or GeoJSON, matched by your own tree IDs.

Back to your GIS

Export trees with their latest ratings as GeoJSON or CSV for ArcGIS or QGIS.

Risk on the map

Every located tree pinned and coloured by its latest rating.

Reports that stay as sent

A report is a frozen version. A change makes a new version, and the one you sent never changes.

A record that's kept

Final assessments are archived, never deleted, and every tree keeps its full history.

Offline in the field

Parks and ravines with no signal are no problem; work syncs when the phone is back online.

ISA form export

Export to ISA Basic Tree Risk Assessment Form, filled from the same assessment.

FAQ

Questions arborists ask.

Can we import our existing tree inventory?

Yes. Import a CSV, Excel or GeoJSON file of up to 5,000 trees at a time into an inventory. Your own tree IDs are kept, and later imports match on them instead of making duplicates.

Does RootFlare replace our work order or asset management system?

No. RootFlare records trees, risk assessments and reports. It doesn't schedule crews or track work orders. Export your trees with their latest ratings as GeoJSON or CSV to bring them into the systems you already use.

How many staff can use it?

The Organizations plan includes unlimited people, from $1,500 a year. Get in touch and we'll set it up with you.

Can a report be changed after it's sent?

No. A report never changes once it's made; a correction is a new version beside it, so the record shows what was sent and when. Final assessments are archived, never deleted.

Does it work in parks with no cell service?

Yes. Field mode saves every change on the device and syncs when it has a connection, on phones, tablets and laptops.
